This half day tour takes you up close to some of the Caribbean Sea’s most dramatic wildlife
Bocas Farmer's and Cultural Market
First and third Saturday of each month, 9 am - 1 pm in Bocas's central park.
The Bocas Farmer’s Market provides a space for local farmers and artisans to sell and promote their products; increases awareness of indigenous and local Panamanian culture; shares information about local farming practices; exposes tourists and residents to a wide variety of local fruits and vegetables; and provides income for small-scale, local farmers and artisans.
The Bocas Farmer's Market provides an opportunity for both locals and tourists to share cultural diversity. Kids will enjoy the face painting and organized games! Traditional folk dancing, great food, and a chance to meet the friendly people of this island community makes the Bocas Farmer's Market an experience you will not want to miss.
A whole range of produce is available. The Bahia Honda community produces pure coconut oil and sells eggs from their successful chicken project, while the San Cristóbal community makes organic chocolate balls and sells jewellery and traditional dresses made by the women´s craft group. Pure Tree sells their organic, homemade oils and balms - great for the skin and hair, for naturally repelling insects, and for relieving the nasty itching from their bites! There are also organic rice, lemongrass tea, ornamental plants and a variety of local exotic fruit and vegetables, such as plantains, oranges, and rambutans.
