Bluff Beach Retreat offers the utmost in secluded luxury, with all the modern comforts of home. We are located on Bluff Beach on Isla Colon, an idyllic spot which is perfect for surfing, sunbathing,exploring the surrounding forests or simply relaxing to the sound of the waves.The 4 acre property is located directly on the beach, with miles of deserted, sandy coastline. It is one of the few places in the world where giant leatherback turtles nest! You can walk for miles without seeing another person.Our property contains many different varietiesof trees – from limes, oranges, papaya, mangoes and bananas to beautiful palms. Wonderfully fragrant shrubs and flowers also surround our homes. We have constructed three homes, the beautiful 4,500 square feet Beach House with four bedrooms and three bathrooms; Las Palmas Casita, a lovely two bedroom home; and our new La Pina Casita, a luxury one-bedroom home – a romantic escape for two.

Sustainability
Bluff Beach Retreat is fully solar-powered and we have installed a rain water catchment system to reduce our impact on Bocas del Toro´s limited freshwater supply.
We recycling and composting as much waste as possible, and purchase soft drinks and beers in returnable glass bottles.
Bluff Beach Retreat is also a supporter of BESO - the Bocas Education Services Organization - a local charity which promotes education and supports school children throughout the province of Bocas del Toro.

Las Palmas Casita (sleeps up to four guests): Low season from $85 per night, high season from $125
La Pina Casita (sleeps two guests): Low season from $150 per night, high season from $195

In addition to the breathtaking views, tranquil beaches, relaxation and gorgeous accommodations that we offer, Bluff Beach Retreat is committed to our guests’ enjoyment. We endeavour to make sure every detail of your stay is perfect so you can relax and focus on yourself and your time in paradise.

Horse Back Ride to La Piscena
Bluff Beach Retreat offers an exciting guided horse back ride along the sands of Bluff to La Piscena.
La Piscena is a beautiful, deserted seawater lagoon that is protected from the strong waves on the northern end of Isla Colon, making it perfect for swimming - hence its name!
Price Includes: Guided tour, snorkels,masks and rubber boots.
Duration: Four to five hours, starting at either 9:30am or 12:30pm
Difficulty: Moderate
What to Bring: bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, water.
Price: $30 for adults, $25 for children
Leatherback Turtles
Bluff Beach is one of the few nesting grounds in the world to the giant leatherback turtle, the world's largest reptile. At certain times of the year, our guests can witness the nesting process under moonlight, or watch the tiny hatchlings emerge.
BoatTours
We can charter you a boat with one of our captains to Bastimentos National Marine Park, where you will enjoy fantastic snorkeling in the Park’s protected waters. You can also visit a working cacao farm and learn all about chocolate, and on your way home there is the chance to observe Bocas’ wild dolphins at play in their natural habitat.
