The forests, beaches, mangroves and coral reefs of Bocas del Toro make it an incredibly diverse place for wildlife spotting.

On the mainland, the jungles of La Amistad International Peace Park and the wetlands of San San Pond Sak are abundant with tropical life, from toucans and noisy howler monkeys to the rare manatees and even rarer tapirs. Your observant native guides will help you make the most of your trip, by pointing out even the most camouflaged of creatures.

In the archipelago, the islands' small size gives visitors a greater chance of encountering wildlife such as sloths, vividly colored poison dart frogs, bats, caimans and even the odd snake, on self-guided or organized hikes, or on silent canoe rides through the creeks and mangroves.

Go on a diving or snorkeling tour to observe colorful, healthy reefs bursting with sponges, parrotfish, star fish, moray eels and nurse sharks amongst the amazing variety of aquatic life here.
