Bahia Honda Night Time Caiman Tour

Dusk is one of the most exciting times to immerse yourself in the rain forest, as the nocturnal creatures awaken and the jungle is filled with the sounds of exotic insects and creatures moving through the jungle canopy.

This tour takes you upriver from the indigenous Ngöbe community of Bahía Honda, past huge mangroves to the forests of Bastimentos National Marine Park.

Your experienced guide, a Bahía Honda native, will paddle the dugout canoe - known as a cayuco - silently in the darkness, allowing you the maximum possibility of seeing nocturnal creatures such as two-toed sloths, night monkeys and caimans, whose eyes glow red in the beams of the flashlights. This is the jungle as you have never experienced it before!

There is the option of a traditional dinner at Bahía Honda on your arrival, prepared by local women with the freshest natural ingredients, such as red snapper, plantains and seasonal fruit.
