Boats are a way of life in the archipelago of Bocas del Toro. Water taxis are necessary to get from one island to another and many of the best spots in the province require a boat ride of some length.
When choosing a tour, always establish a fixed price before you leave and be sure that the boat has enough life jackets for all passengers and crew. For longer trips, you may want to select a boat with a cover for shade.
