Bocas Surf School

Bocas Surf School provides beginner to advanced surf lessons and surf tours. Our beginner lessons are designed for people who are totally new to the sport of surfing or have surfed a few times and want to ensure that they have the correct techniques. Our intermediate courses are designed for those who can stand up and ride across the waves but want to perfect their technique or learn how to add speed and turns to their surfing.  All courses start with the basic such as beach and sea safety, surf etiquette, proper paddling technique, and catching waves.

We also offer guided kayaking and snorkeling tours. We have several tours available, including a one-way trip from Boca del Drago which includes stops for snorkeling at a shipwreck, coral reef, and at Hospital Point. Tours are flexible and can be planned around your ability. 

About Us

Hosted by Hotel Lula's B&B, the Bocas Surf School was born and thrives today under the ownership and guidance of the Hudson family. BSS currently offers surf lessons and a board equipment rental service. Being the oldest surf school in Bocas del Toro with professional certified instruction, they are uniquely positioned to provide the highest standard of service to visitors and residents. All instructors are CPR, and First Aid certified and are chosen based on experience as well as certifications.

Full and half day surf lessons are available at $89 and $54 dollars, respectively. We also offer tours starting at $150.

Prices include surf board and transportation to and from the beach.

Kayak tours run between $30-45 per person, including kayak and paddle, mask and snorkel, life jacket, dry bag, and guide.
