Zapatillas Beach

These two classic “desert islands” are part of Bastimentos National Marine Park, and are at the far eastern end of the archipelago, a beautiful 40 minute boat ride from Bocas town. The islands are uninhabited other than the sea turtles that lay their eggs on the soft white sand surrounding the lush forests. You can walk around either island in about 20 minutes, being careful not to disturb the marked nests. (Note: There is a $10 entrance fee to the Park.)
