Tucked away in a secluded bay on the edge of Bastimentos National Marine Park, the Ngöbe community of Bahía Honda is a scattering of stilted houses peeking out of the mangroves, the forest and the tiny islands dotted around the bay.
Children paddle traditional cayucos from their isolated homes across the calm bay to the community´s school, while their parents tend to their crops and to the chickens whose eggs provide an important source of income for several of the families here.
Indulge in this peaceful way of life and the proximity to the jungle just 15 minutes by boat from Bocas town, and hear the stories of the community and the wildlife that surrounds it.
