Bottlenose Dolphins

0.0/5 rating (0 votes)

These sociable and curious animals can be aggressive predators, but have an impressive sense of empathy when it comes to saving members of its group. If a dolphin is injured, one of its companions will bring it to the surface to help it breathe. Bottlenose dolphins have also been known to save injured humans by bringing them to the surface.
Their characteristic bottle “noses” are of course not noses at all – they really breathe through the blowhole on top of their heads. They communicate by whistling and squeaking through the hole, as well as by slapping their tails on the water when they jump.
