This half day tour takes you up close to some of the Caribbean Sea’s most dramatic wildlife
The small boats that dart around the archipelago are Bocas’s single most important form of transportation. Most of the archipelago’s popular destinations are only accessible by water taxi, and unless visitors fly into Bocas airport, Bocas town itself can only be reached by boat from Almirante.
Travelers can also catch a taxi around Isla Colón, and bicycle rentals are available. Several buses per day run from the park to Boca del Drago at the far end of Isla Colón. The journey takes around an hour. There are no paved roads or vehicles on any of the other islands.
Frequent, inexpensive buses run on the mainland, as well as slightly more expensive shuttle and taxi services. Some of the more remote regions of La Amistad International Park can only be reached by traveling on the river in canoes... expect to get wet when navigating your way around Bocas!
