This half day tour takes you up close to some of the Caribbean Sea’s most dramatic wildlife
Restaurants
For a relatively remote bunch of islands, Bocas del Toro has an astonishing variety of local and international cuisine to please diners of all tastes and budgets.Restaurants are mainly found in Bocas town, on Isla Carenero and in Old Bank, Isla Bastimentos. Traditional Caribbean dishes with fresh local ingredients are undoubtedly the cheapest option, and the platefuls of coconut rice, seasonal vegetables, lentils and freshly caught fish are both delicious and filling.
Seafood is abundant and diverse - snapper, sea bass and shrimp are common, along with local conch, served in Caribbean, coconut and curry sauces. Vegetarians shouldn't have a problem finding a hearty, healthy meal either. Many restaurants are located over the water, on the beach, or even tucked away in the jungle - offering glorious views, cool breezes and exotic sounds as you wait for your meal.
International options include Indian, Thai, Italian, Greek, Mexican, Chinese, Spanish and American. There are also bakeries and sandwich shops where you can get fresh food to go.
